About La Bodeguita del Medio
Ernest Hemingway is forever linked with Havana's La Bodeguita del Medio. The man may have put in drinking hours in many bars in many cities, but famously when in Cuba he drank his mojito in La Bodeguita and a daiquiri in El Floridita.
The bar has been around since 1942 and is decorated in typically cluttered Cuban fashion with photos filling the walls and trinkets scattered throughout the place. Over the years it has been visited by numerous artists, films stars and literary types, including Pablo Neruda, Nat King Cole and Marlene Dietrich, and their signatures also cover the walls.
