Black leather sofas, ornate gold gilt mirrors, rococo styling and more are squeezed into this petite Soho bar. Feeding off the excited energy of the area, a goodtime buzz builds from happy hour onwards, although the darkened front doors and windows usually remain closed to spare the local residents the sounds of revelry. It also helps to create the intimate atmosphere. While it touts itself as a champagne bar, with a list that covers a selection of cuvee and brut that could easily bruise your wallet, some of the establishment’s most popular signature tipples are the chocolate rimmed, fruit-based daquiries from the “Soiree Sensations” section of the cocktail list. To be sipped or licked lasciviously, the choice is up to you (and dependent on the company you’re keeping, or wanting to attract). The playful theme continues on the drinks menu with themes such as “Seven Sins” and more self-improving (maybe) “Seven Chakras”. Martinis are on hand for more serious bar props. The styling seems to appeal to ladies nights, which are promoted by the bar itself, while dates and groups wanting digestifs can often be found occupying the banquetts and dimly lit nooks.
