Ham and Sherry
May 11, 2018
No prizes for guessing what this bar specialises in. Jason Atherton’s Ham & Sherry, an adjunct of 22 Ships, has a pleasing Catalonian vibe, the space decked out in traditional blue and white tiles with huge hams hanging from the ceiling. As the name implies there’s also an excellent range of quality sherries to pair with your plates of piggy bits. The bar stocks everything from top of the line Iberico, the most meltingly tender of hams, to top-notch spicy Bellota chorizo. On the sherry-front, there are more than 50 choices available, ranging from bone dry fino to manzanilla as well as the sweeter varieties, rich and raisiny. There are also some real rarities, though those are priced accordingly, and a sherry sommelier is on hand to give advice about suitable pairings. The bartenders are all friendly and happy to help and know their stuff when it comes to all things sherry-related, making for a small slice of Spain in Hong Kong.
