Hong Kong-Tsim Sha Tsui
May 11, 2018
The Mira in Tsim Sha Sui is one of Hong Kong’s first design-led hotels, a beautiful space with some truly stunning public areas. Chief among them is Vibes, a verdant oasis, hidden away in a fifth floor courtyard and surrounded by the city’s skyscrapers. The aesthetic is softened by palm trees, lotus-shaped open-fires and water features, making the place feel a bit like a secret garden, an open air sanctuary in which to unwind, cushioned by greenery from the noise and excess of the city. A DJ provides a mellow, chilled out soundtrack, the beats picking up as the night progresses. If you’re part of a group you can book a private cabana. Come on Thursdays for a taste of the Middle East with belly dancers, Arabic beats and shisha pipes. Cocktails are potent and fruity their Kiwi Mojitos are a case in point and we also like the sound of the of their Kimono Cooler combining sake with watermelon juice and ginger syrup. The bar serves a small but decent selection of bar snacks and prices are in line with a hotel of this standard.
