Omakase + Appreciate is one of a growing number of speakeasy-style bars in KL. It has the requisite secretive entrance and location, make the experience of drinking here a little more interesting. Once you find the place, you can indulge in some superb cocktails served by award-winning mixologists, Shawn Chong and Karl Too. Omakase, in a Japanese restaurant, is a type of meal consisting of dishes selected by the chef, it essentially means ‘I’ll leave it to you’ in Japanese, and here the mixologists are more than happy to create a cocktail just for you, tailored to your tastes with the spirits you pick. The place is stylish and attractive but very much on the tiny side, so it’s the kind of bar to hit up with a date, or a friend or two, and have a great, intimate night out, rather than to go to with a large group.
