Lake Como is easily one of the most beautiful places in Italy, and if you’re lucky enough to make the trip, don’t skip out on a visit to the Terrazza 241 rooftop. Sweeping views of the lake and nearby mountains, a poolside restaurant and amazing cocktails place it at the top of every savvy traveler’s to-do list, and with good reason.

A little upscale, as most venues around the lake are, the Terrazza 241 bar is the ideal setting for an afternoon of farniente or a date night dinner al fresco. And it doesn’t end at the swoon-worthy view. Let’s start with the food. Pure flavor profiles enhanced by great technique make for an incredible dining experience here at Terrazza. The carefully sourced ingredients speak for themselves and are cooked to perfection: grilled octopus with fennel, turbot cooked at such low temperature that each bite brings more flavor than the next… are just a few examples of the chef’s elegant touch. And meat lovers can rejoice, Terrazza 241 is also famous for its terrace grill serving juicy T-bone steaks and lamb racks. In true Italian style, you will of course find pasta dishes on the menu as well, that pair incredibly well with the selection of wines from the Italian countryside.

After your delicious meal (did we mention how much we loved the food?), you might want to fancy it up with a cocktail or two, and trust us when we say they do not disappoint. The mixologists at the Terrazza 241 bar are experts at putting Italy in a glass, and the menu is nothing short of a Riviera-induced dream. Fresh honey-infused ginger, ripe cherry and lavender syrups are just a sample of the joyous and flavorful combinations that are used in the creation of the cocktail list. Our favorite? A tie between the Ashumi, a sensory experience piling cherries, lychee, Plymouth gin, rooibos and Grand Marnier into a sunny concoction, or the Pizzo, a romantic association of Lillet Blanc, lavender and Laurent Perrier champagne. Careful, you’ll want to sip this one from sunset to sunrise!

Stunning views with an infinity pool reflecting the setting sun, great food, a sophisticated crowd and an inspired cocktail menu make Terrazza 241 one of THE places to go while visiting Lake Como. Trust us, you will not want to miss out.
