The Cromwell Las Vegas styles itself as the city’s first boutique hotel (though being Vegas, so this is a relative term) and contains a number of top notch dining and drinking spots, including Food Network chef Giada de Laurentiis’ new eponymous restaurant. Downstairs, you’ll find lobby bar Bound, a space where black leather prevails both in the design and the uniforms of the wait staff. A chic circular bar stands at the centre of the plush, low-lit room and the cocktail menu takes the form of a leather-bound book and the drinks – care of star mixologist Salvatore Calabrese, a winner of countless Tales of the Cocktail awards, who’s spent over 30 years in the business – is full of potent pleasures including his signature Breakfast Martini ad some new house creations like the Cromwellian, a mic of bourbon, cherry liqueur, and coffee that had been brewed with vermouth. The Cromwell Fizz meanwhile combines Macallan Fine Oak Whiskey, lemon juice and orange bitters with a generous splash of Moët & Chandon. If you need a pick-me-up, the coffee-based cocktail, Never Say Goodnight, sounds like the way to go.
