Housed in that uber-opulent Vegas pleasure temple, the Venetian, the Tao Lounge is the perfect spot to sip a few cocktails before moving on to the throbbing club of the same name. The décor has a strong Asiatic theme, carried through with all the subtlety you’d expect, silk and velvet everywhere, wood and stones, and, oh yes, a hand-carved statue of Buddha that stands some twenty foot tall. There’s even a pool of Koi carp. Drinks are suitably swish and will set you up nicely for a night on the mammoth terrace of the Tao club, listening to the pounding sounds of the inhouse DJs. Sure, it’s over the top, but this is Vegas and would you really want it any other way?
