This agreeable bar, just a stone’s throw from Leeds Station, specialises in top quality charcuterie and craft beer two of our very favourite things. The compact street level bar area is the place to go to sample one of their many draught specials or to explore the decent wine selection. Downstairs, there’s a larger room with a communal table, various battered sofas and a shuffleboard game, should you grow a bit fidgety between drinks. The noble pig features prominently in the wall art and the menu and the bar offers a good range of piggy products and cheese. There’s not much in the way of a kitchen onsite, but the food is very well sourced from local producers. They serve slivers of meltingly soft lardo, magnificent Iberico Bellota as well as on the cheese front – a creamy Monte Enebro, a pungent smoky goat and a beautiful Brie de Meaux. The chicken liver pate and the tapenade are also worth sampling, while you work through the extensive list of beers from the UK, Europe and the US. There are well over a hundred to choose from as well as a good range of keg and cask beers. The atmosphere is warm and convivial and it’s a great place to grab an after work drink or two, a real boon to commuters.
