This lively Miraflores bar, located above the popular and stylish Bruje de Cachiche, is attractively designed, the old stone building full of hidden spaces and winding corridors, the interior decor themed around the elements earth, air, water and so forth. It fills up fast with a crowd of young urban professionals and serves a cracking range of pisco cocktails. The bar is very much a part of Peru’s new wave of pisco culture, a new generation embracing the traditional drink, here made modern and accessible, frequently flavoured with fruit – the passion fruit option is always popular. There are a range of other cocktails on offer, including a refreshing coca leaf Chilcano, but the classic sour with its characteristic frothy cap of egg whites takes some beating though. The food menu is also well worth exploring, traditional ingredients given a contemporary twist, the dishes elegantly presented.
