Rio Maravilha

A multi-faceted venue in Lisbon, Rio Maravilha is one part panoramic terrace, one part restaurant and one part bar and event space. During the day patrons come for the light and airy dining room, complete with flowery chairs and table-top board games, which offers stunning views over the city and River Tagus. The food menu features both Portuguese and Brazilian specialities (grilled tiger prawns, veal, steaks, razor clams and more), created with flair by the internationally-renowned resident chef. Attached to the restaurant is Rio Maravilha’s panoramic terrace, located on the fourth floor, which offers additional sweeping views of the Ponte 25 de Abril bridge – especially enchanting when twinkling in the evening. The other side of Rio Maravilha is the large, urban-feel bar and live music stage, which regularly plays host to singers and bands from around the world. In both here and at the restaurant/terrace, you can order cocktails from Rio Maravilha’s exciting drinks menu. Signature creations include the Raspberry and Pop Rocks Margarita with tequila, raspberry, triple sec and topped with fizzy popping candy; and the Pineapple Rum Sour, with aged rum, lime juice, pineapple juice, honey, egg white, rosemary and paprika. Such is their creativity, in fact, that several of Rio Maravilha’s creations have even been awarded the title of “Best Cocktail in Lisbon” during the annual Lisbon Bar Week. But don’t worry – if you’re not the cocktail type, there’s also plenty of beer and spirits behind the well-stocked bar, and a knowledgeable bar staff who can help you choose your order.
