The Insólito Restaurante & Bar

With a name that translates to “the unusual”, The Insólito Restaurante & Bar brings a never-seen-before mix of offbeat style, unique menu, and simply stunning skyline views of Lisbon. In an enviable location near several happening districts, The Insólito sets itself apart from the moment you spot the logo of the venue on the outside. The Insólito is symbolized by a deer, complete with antlers, wearing an undone tuxedo shirt and a monocle. Once inside, in addition to a mounted version of the deer, you will find a space that resembles a friend’s apartment – if your friend was a bohemian collector, that is. Faded movie posters, colorful tile mosaics, curios cabinets, gold-rimmed portraits, vintage candelabras, and window shutters are just the tip of the funky iceberg. This personality translates to both the dinner and cocktail menu, as both are full of custom combinations made with panache, often incorporating local flavors. Examples on the drinks side include the perky Daiquiri de Pêra Rocha – rum, native Portuguese Rocha pear, thyme, and lime juice – the refreshing Gimlet Insólito – gin, Granny Smith apple, syrup and fresh lime juice – and the zesty Deer Bloody Mary – premium vodka with a homemade Bloody Mary mix garnished with fresh mozzarella and basil. The Insólito is especially proud of its wine list, which includes around 50 different varieties all picked based on the unique story of the region they came from or their flavor profile. A large list of spirits, beer, and liqueurs are also stocked, and like the cocktails, inevitably taste better out on the terrace overlooking the twinkling lights of Lisbon.
