Rooftop
Topo
Lisbon-City-Center

One of the latest in a long line of Lisbon rooftop bars, Topo brings to the table its own refreshing take on combining sweeping city views with sensational cocktails. Located on the sixth floor of an otherwise nondescript commercial building, Topo has already become a staple among locals and tourists in the know (who know where to look). The bar has helped spur on an already strong revitalization effort around the grand Praça Martim Moniz plaza, and once you reach the former warehouse building Topo is located in, elevators are on hand to whisk you to the sixth floor. Once you emerge, you are immediately hit with a million dollar view, and many patrons make the rounds taking pictures before they even have a seat. Once focused on the interior of Topo, you will find a sleek and stylish space designed by the renowned team of Miguel Oliveira and José Botelho. Minimalist wooden tables contrast with bold paintings inside, while outside, the multiple levels of chic wooden benches blend perfectly with the white walls of the terrace. While the views are fabulous at any time, they are unbelievable at sunset – when Lisbon’s hilltop neighborhood Alfama, complete with its stoic castle Castelo de S. Jorge, is lit up by the golden rays of the fading sun. Cocktails tend to be on the sunny side of things (think rum, lime, and pineapple) and a full repertoire of spirits, liqueurs, wine, beer, and cider are also poured.
