Jenny’s Bar is a handsome cocktail spot from the same team behind the popular Berry and Rye. It might be located in the city’s business district but that doesn’t impact on its atmosphere in any noticeable way. Housed in the legendary Jenny’s Seafood Restaurant on Fenwick Street, it’s an elegant space, something of a speakeasy in its style, furnished as it is with vintage knickknacks and velvet curtains. The walls are green and gold walls and there’s an ornate hand-painted ceiling. Jenny’s is a small space but that’s part of its charm. The drinks are excellent and care has evidently gone into so much of the venue, its menu, its design, its service, Their Watermelon Margarita is a refreshing, zesty thing, ripe and red and summery; we like the sound of their Aperol Cobbler while, for those who like their drinks stiff and strong, Jenny’s Martini is crystal-clear tipple which packs a considerable punch. Prices are on the high side for the site but the quality of the drinks is worth it. Bartenders, clad in distinctive leather aprons, are friendly and knowledgeable and we really like the fact that there are bottle-lockers on the walls for regulars to keep their own drinks from visit to visit.
