For a small city, Ljubljana has an awful lot going for it. It’s beautiful, culturally rich and boasts a huge array of stylish places given over to eating and drinking. One of the best of these is Cubo. It’s a rather stark and minimal space. Design wise, everything has been kept clean and simple. The main dining area decorated with lots of rich dark wood, the walls are painted café au lait. Understated it may be but that’s because the main focus is on what’s on your plate and in your glass. The menu changes seasonally and they have an excellent wine list featuring both the home-grown and the international. Desserts are a particular highlight. This place is very popular, so reservations are recommended.
