Solist

A classy and sophisticated bar in the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana, Solist is located by (and takes its name from) the Slovenian Philharmonic, and fittingly serves up a harmonious blend of drinks, food, and atmosphere. 
For first time visitors to Ljubljana, the city’s romantic allure can sometimes come as a surprise, as it has still managed to remain a bit of a hidden gem on the European scene. Everyone quickly finds their favorite part of the city (the architecture and the castle above the old town collect many fans), with the lovely Ljubljanica River and its graceful bridges high on many a list. Many of the town’s most revered cafes sit beside the river, with the Solist being one of the finest examples. Inside, the decor is elegant with floral-inspired crystalline lighting fixtures, vibrant arrangements of flowers, and even a chalkboard-black wall full of fanciful musical notes on a staff.  
Like most riverside cafes in Ljubljana though, the real action at Solist happens outside, as the terrace overlooks the river and is filled with gold and black couches that sit under the shade of the city’s signature willow trees. Tapas and coffee take center stage during the day, with cocktails and wine the star of the show when the stars come out, and don’t be surprised if you’re sitting next to one, either, as the bar attracts a very fashionable crowd.
