- Great food

A sparkling venue offering a taste of Spain in the heart of London, Aqua Nueva is a step in a stylish new direction of Spanish dining and drinking in the capital.
While offering a thorough slice of Iberia through their food and drinks (nearly each and every region is represented on their menu), Aqua Nueva has eschewed the temptation to go for the typical tapas bar design, instead treating us to a glamorous interior that feels more ‘swank’ than sangria. The curved ceiling makes the restaurant feel like a cava cave – one bathed in soft light featuring luxurious tiled floors, faded brick, and dark wood ‘directors-style’ chairs – while the bar is home to gilded touches and some of the sleekest chairs we’ve ever laid eyes upon. While all these design touches and the delectable plates are great, at the end of the day, it’s the the cocktails that impress us the most at Aqua Nueva.
The signature section is called ‘Inspired By Spain’, and it includes such beauties as the Flotante (ultra premium rum, lime, pineapple, passionfruit, and cherry dessert wine), the Catalan Sour (whisky, chestnut liqueur, lime, sugar, egg white, and burnt sugar), and the Who Was The Innkeeper? (vodka, amaretto, sherry, Spanish sparkling wine, and bergamot). All the classics are painstakingly handcrafted and served alongside a quality beer and wine list, and this is to say nothing of the rooftop bar that has already collected accolades as one of the finest perches in all of London, and now that we mention it, we can’t think of a better place to be on a sunny day.
