The third London outpost of Barrafina, the
excellent mini-chain of superior tapas joints from the Hart brothers and Barragan,
is just as stylish and classy as its siblings. This place is just as
dazzling as their Adelaide Street venue, with a meu of gloriously moreish
dishes and an abundance of great sherries and wines to choose from. The menu
from executive head chef Nieves Barragán Mohacho is studded with delicious
things like cuttlefish empanadas and melting pork belly with coriander salsa. Their crab buns, oozing crabby goodness, is already becoming a
must-order dish. The salt-baked prawns are also off-the-scale. The tortilla, near
liquid in the middle, is as good here as at the other branches. The service is
impeccable, the atmosphere stylish, the selection of liquid things impressive –
we fully expect a table here to become as hard to come by as at the other two
branches soon (they operate a no-reservations policy so you’ll probably have to wait at busy times). But make no mistake this is an experience worth queuing for.
