A very welcome wave of all things Spanish is sweeping London and tapas bars are seemingly cropping up on every corner. There’s the delectable Barrafina in Soho, the ever expanding Brindisa empire and now there’s this Fitzrovia offering. Barrica is an elegant café-bar with a checkerboard floor and walls of dark wood cabinets filled with superb Spanish wines. The head chef hails from Moro, so unsurprisingly the food is of a very high standard. Barrica serves top notch tapas: think superior salt cod or plates of delectable Iberico ham. Wash these down with a glass of sharp Manzanilla, a distinctive Spanish gin or an excellent full-bodied Rioja; the simply but attractively furnished room buzzes with the sound of a food-savvy crowd enjoying themselves.
