One of two bars in the newly renovated Savoy, the Beaufort is the gilded sibling of the more restrained American Bar. The glamour of the latter comes in part from its history, but the Beaufort is far more theatrical. Its walls are dinner jacket black threaded with gold and a vast Murano glass chandelier drips from the ceiling. One can see where the money’s been spent. The bar exudes an old world, art deco air and the service is smooth and almost imperceptibly efficient, just as you’d expect from a hotel of the Savoy’s standing. Champagne plays a prime role on the drinks list though there is a small selection of cocktails to choose from too. This place well put a fair dent in your wallet but you’re not just forking out for a drink, rather an experience.
