There’s something amusingly incongruous about the arrival of All Star Lanes, the American-themed bowling and cocktail joint, in the environs of Brick Lane. It’s bemusing but ultimately gladdening. Third in a mini-chain of 1950s influenced bar, restaurant and bowling alley combos, All Star Lanes is an appealing destination if you just want to chill with a drink and some nibbles but it’s arguably more exciting if you throw in some bowling action too. The bar serves a range of American beers as well as some inspired beer-based cocktails, and the food is better than you have any right to expect. The atmosphere is colourful and lively this is definitely a place that works best when you’re part of a big group of friends.
