London-City and East London

This buzzing Shoreditch cocktail spot boasts a sofa-strewn rooftop bar complete with graffiti-splashed (and more importantly, given the British weather) covered terrace. But although there’s an abundance of chill-out space, the atmosphere is pure party. Resident DJs spin house tunes and club classics all weekend, to a crowd that’s kept well-watered by an extensive menu of cocktails and rare spirits. The house cocktail, the Golden Bee, is a honey-sweet nectar made from tequila, enhanced with fruity banana liqueur and passion fruit sugar. It’s worth visiting the delights of the full menu, though. Martinis are a particular speciality, with seven variations including the violet liqueur and lavender syrup infused Lavender, and Mexican Butterfly, which is flavoured with grapefruit and tequila. There’s also a chance to sample spirits, with an extensive range of tipples available by the shot. With a ceiling covered in mirrors and studded with shot glasses, this is a bar that’s gone all out on the décor. There’s even a nod to its name, with honeycomb-patterned tiles and bee murals on the textured brick walls. Their efforts have paid off. In summer, this rooftop bar is packed out with crowds enjoying the stunning views over East London. But come at quieter times of year to enjoy Monday night film screenings – blankets provided.
