London-City and East London
May 11, 2018
This wonderfully atmospheric east London pub boasts an art deco-inspired interior. There’s an antique fire place and an abundance of velvet and warm wood coupled with a vintage crystal chandelier. There’s even an alarmingly large collection of taxidermy dotted about the place. While the design has its quirks – those buffalo heads are a little alarming – the welcome is friendly and the bar well-stocked. There’s a large array of spirits on offer (given the gonzo connection it’s no surprise that rum features prominently) plus a decent wine list. The pub food is well above average, their Sunday roasts are pretty epic, and thankfully there’s very little in the way of either fear or loathing on the menu.
