Mini Mark's Bar at Tramshed Shoreditch
London-City and East London
May 11, 2018
Tramshed has quickly become one of London’s most revered restaurants, as Mark Hix’s masterful mash-up of ‘chicken, steak, and art’ inside a stunning former tram depot defies both comparisons and competition. And tucked away inside Tramshed is Mini Mark’s Bar, our favorite spot here to kick back with a cocktail and take it all in.
Let’s start with the big picture though, and that is Tramshed itself. This gorgeous former shed has been spruced up while still retaining its full arsenal of faded glory, and has had everyone talking since day one about the striking artwork in the center. Not to give too much away, but it involves a cow and a chicken, and we’ve never seen anything quite like it displayed inside one of our venue’s before. In fact, artwork abounds at Tramshed, and includes a stimulating subterranean gallery. The juicy chicken and steak-centric fare is divine, but it’s the cocktails at the hidden-away Mini Mark’s Bar that have us the most excited (hey, bars are our business). A few of our favorites (of many) are The Dragon (pisco, lime juice, mint, demerara, and soda water), the Dorset Donkey (premium British vodka, sage, morello cherry, and lime topped up with ginger ale), and a great take on a spiked iced tea using tequila, premium British vodka & rum, and a splash of craft cola.
