St Bart’s Brewery is like the classiest brewery bar you’ve ever been to, serving up British gastropub-style food, local craft beer and English wines.

Slightly confusingly, St Bart’s Brewery isn’t an actual brewery. Instead, it’s a gleaming gastropub-turned-bar located within a gorgeous building in the Smithfield neighbourhood of London. But they do serve beer straight from an on-site tank, provided by a local London brewer. So we can sort of let them off.   The interior of St Bart’s Brewery is all stripped-wood and classy neutral tones, accented by gleaming spotlight lamps, barrel-top tables and exposed pipes. It feels like the most elegant brewery bar we’ve ever stepped foot in, split over two levels, who also serve up local, British food, much of which is sourced from nearby Smithfield Market. There’s homemade bar snacks (naturally), small plates, and hearty comfort food like cock-a-leekie pie and bangers & mash. Aside from the aforementioned London Fresh Lager (procured from local brewer Meantime) poured right from the tank, St Bart’s Brewery also boast a comprehensive wine list that even features a few of their own wines and ciders produced on a vineyard estate in Kent (the champagne-style cider is of particular note). The rest of the wines are an international bunch, several available by the either glass or the bottle, and the selection changes seasonally to complement the venue’s food menu.
