Following in the trend set by Zucca, Islington’s Trullo offers delectable if rustic Italian food at incredibly reasonable prices. This is solid, unfussy, well-sourced cooking of the best kind. The main dining area is on the ground floor but venture down stairs and you’ll find a more casual bar area and more tables. It’s easier to get a walk-in spot down here (the main room tends to get booked up ahead of time) but the menu is limited to snacks and small dishes. Order a note-perfect Negroni or a presseco cocktail alongside some grilled squid or oozing arancini. The sizeable all-Italian wine list is also deserving of your attention.
