Dirty Bones Carnaby
May 11, 2018
This neon-lit diner on Kingly Court, the third branch of the US-inspired chain, specialises in chicken and waffles and hot dogs, but also serves a range of US comfort eats and cocktails. Drinks have an American twist. Their Key lime Martini is a case in point, a blend of gin, fresh lime and limoncello with a burnt lime foam top – a nice theatrical touch that – it’s part dessert, part drink. On the opposite end of the taste scale is their Dirty Mary, a mix of vodka, tomato, orange, lemon & pickle juice. fresh mint, chilli sauce & a sour cream pringle rim (yes, that’s right a Pringle rim). The food menu includes crisp Pork Baby Back Ribs with a Sweet Miso and Jalapeno glaze, and their signature Dirty Dog, made wth pulled pork, crispy bacon, jalapeño cheese sauce, and crispy shallots. Their brunch menu includes the suitably filthy Green Cheese Toastie, which pairs Avocado, with Melting Cheddar and Taleggio Cheese, and tops the lot with a fried egg and chives. The sweet of teeth might want to test themselves with the Toblerone-tella waffles, which is what it suggests and then some, a pile of aramelised banana, Toblerone-tella, blueberry jam peanut better gelato, crushed nuts on a freshly baked waffle. You’ll need an afternoon nap after that. The room has a cheeky US diner vibe, as does the service.
