Located in a handsome former stained glass window factory in the heart of Covent Garden – previously (and briefly) home to the blink-and- you’ll-miss-it Heaton, Butler and Bayne – this is the second branch of the acclaimed and Michelin-laden Peruvian restaurant in Fitzrovia. The 70-cover venue on the corner of Garrick Street will serve new dishes and showcase rare Peruvian herbs as well as ingredients sourced from the Amazon basin. Drinks-wise, they serve a cracking Pisco Sour naturally but there’s also a full pisco bar downstairs if you want to explore Peruvian cocktails further. The Casi Peruano, a mix of Pisco, Campari, Sweet Vermouth, Lime, Tonic Water and Orange Bitters sounds right up our street, a bit like a Peruvian Negroni. Even with Peruvian food becoming more familiar around London, Lima Junior promises to offer things you won’t have experienced before unless you’ve hiked through the Andes. The room is lovely and stylish with a chic dark bar area which contrasts nicely with the bright white brick and blue steel of the main dining room; the staff are charming and informative, the atmosphere upmarket and elegant but not stuffy.
