Thankfully we got there early. And there’s nothing wrong about that when we’re talking about the Market Place. Any DJ bar slap-bang in the middle of the West End is bound to prove popular with the style-conscious, aesthetically pleasing post-workers. Before you know it… it’s after 1 and you’re giving yourself grief for being waylaid by the place and it’s blinding beats. We (just) managed to get a table on the ground floor, clocked the welcoming decor – wood panelled walls and bench seats and then the menu! ‘Latin street food’ they call it – tasty and moreish – is more precise, with a fab selection for everyone. Soon we were in the bigger downstairs and even if bare brick and concrete is everywhere these days, with more tables/alcove seating and room to shuffle, you know you’re at the heart of the Market and an early night is out of the question.
