Hush, the pleasantly retro Mayfair lounge bar owned by the son of one time James Bond, Roger Moore, has had a bit of a revamp to mark its ten year anniversary. It remains a smart, stylish space, slightly hidden away in the narrow streets behind (appropriately enough) Bond Street, and is all the better for it. Though decidedly Mayfair in its plushness it’s not too flashy; the fashion pack do drink here but it’s not aggressively hip. The downstairs brasserie is airy and attractive, while the first floor cocktail bar has an understated glamour. The drinks list is a little on the retro side too fruity, fun, but hardly innovative – but its lack of edginess just adds to its charm.
