The Moroccan-themed Mamounia Lounge stands out from the crowd. No faux industrial chic here, no urban minimalism, instead it’s an exotic space that’s rich in atmosphere. The main bar abounds with red velvet walls, hanging lanterns and jewel coloured cushions. Of their fresh fruity cocktails we like the Funky Souk, made with mango, and the pineapple and watermelon concoction that is the Golden Oasis. If you don’t fancy a mixed drink they also stock a good range of champagne. Downstairs there’s a separate restaurant area where you can munch on Moroccan and Lebanese dishes including moutabel, that yummy aubergine dip, and delectable lamb kofta. They also have a covered outdoor area where you can sneak off to smoke some shisha if you so wish. Prices are on the high side (watch out for the hefty minimum spends) but then it is Mayfair.
