Formerly known as Quince, the bar and restaurant at The May Fair hotel has been rebranded as the May Fair Kitchen

Formerly known as Quince, the bar and restaurant at The May Fair hotel has been rebranded as the May Fair Kitchen. It’s a cool, airy and stylish space as you’d expect of a hotel of this calibre. It’s relaxed and luxurious, with light flooding in through the large windows.Provenance is a big deal here and they can tell you every farmer, fisherman and grower who supplied their produce. The drinks list includes a huge range of Bloody Marys, with ingredients including everything from Sriracha to fish sauce to whisky. From the main cocktail list, we like the sound of the Black Cherry Sazerac, a mix of Woodford Reserve, Cherry Marnier, black cherry conserve, and a splash of Absinthe, and the Lemongrass Debonnaire, an aromatic blend of vodka, lemongrass, peach liqueur, vanilla, and lime wedges. The food menu includes an exciting range of fresh seafood and tasty grilled things including a roasted grass fed 28oz single rib served with duck fat potatoes and designed to be shared. Prices are definitely on the steep side – cocktails start at £12 a pop -but then this a hotel in the very heart of May Fair and the quality of what’s on offer is very high.
