Reform Social and Grill
London-Mayfair
May 11, 2018
Reform Social and Grill has the formal feel of the gentlemen’s clubs of old. It’s a masculine yet elegant space, furnished with dark wood, red leather booths, embossed copper walls and marble tables. Housed in Mandeville Hotel, a luxury boutique establishment in Marylebone, the place has a refined and classy atmosphere and is pleasingly unstuffy. The drinks list contains many treats, including new and heritage cocktails like Edwin Chadwick’s Cup, a refreshing mix of gin, cucumber, mint, elderflower and champagne. There’s a decent wine list, but it’s the cocktails that really impress. The menu is meaty and substantial steak features prominently here (the vast Porterhouse for two is a particularly magnificent specimen) and if you’re wise you’ll save room for dessert.
