Mr Fogg’s Tavern

The wonderfully eccentric sister bar to Mr Fogg’s in Mayfair, Mr Fogg’s Tavern is a Phileas Fogg-themed bar divided into two sections: a beer tavern downstairs and a gin parlor and cocktail lounge upstairs.
Decked out in Victorian-style accoutrements, Mr Fogg’s Tavern is the perfect antidote to the bustling city outside its doors. Once inside, you’re whisked away to a bygone era, where you’ll be served up delightful cocktails and delicious hearty English pub fare by whimsically-dressed bartenders and wait staff.
In the downstairs tavern, guests are treated to a cozy wood-paneled den complete with British flag and portrait of Victoria herself. Here you can savor draft and bottled beers from London and the South East, along with tasty pot roasts, savory pies and pâtés. Or why not order a plate of crispy pigs ears with apple cider sauce – the perfect Victorian drinking accompaniment.
Upstairs, Mr Fogg’s Tavern morphs into a more elegant salon, complete with chaise lounges, chintzy curtains and heavily-patterned wallpaper. Here, guests are invited to sample a range of champagnes, over eighty different gins from around the world and a small but notable wine and sherry selection.
Cocktails are amusingly-named (and much easier to pronounce before drinking has commenced) and change with the seasons. Granny McGee’s All In One Hot Punch is a wonderfully warming concoction of cider brandy, mead, lemon and spiced wine syrup serving steaming hot, while Fanny’s Virility Tonic is much lighter and refreshing, combining beetroot-infused gin, ginger, lemon and soda.
