London-North and Northwest London
May 11, 2018
King’s Cross is rapidly shedding its old reputation as one of the seedier patches of north London. There are stylish new bars and restaurants opening (seemingly) every day. One of the most recent is Karpo, an all-day diner-style venue opposite King’s Cross station. Inside, there’s a basement bar, a mezzanine level with a large private dining area and a verdant ‘living’ wall of greenery. The bar is stuffed with plump Chesterfield sofas and, alongside a list of classic cocktails, they serve Absinthe in the traditional manner. The wine list is off-beat and has clearly been put together with care. The crowd reflects the venue’s appealing eclecticism.
