This speakeasy-style spot in Kentish Town is modishly hard to find the sign is teeny-tiny. Once you locate the entrance, a graffiti-covered hallway and a narrow staircase lead you through into a cool living room-like space, with squashy sofas and a bar at which you can perch. There are flea market rugs, quirky wallpaper on the walls, all manner knickknacks and curios dotted about the place, even a spot of taxidermy on display. There’s even a resident Jack Russell, who goes by the name of Otto. We particularly like the look of the cushion-strewn nook complete with twin chaise longues, a lovely corner in which to recline with a drink. Speaking of drinks, these guys definitely know what they’re doing. The menu features a tasty, inventive range of cocktails, including the impressively vegetal Grow Your Own Martini, made with house infused pink peppercorn vodka, vermouth, and cucumber. The atmosphere is chilled out, the drinks intriguing and exciting, and the vibe unpretentious and pleasingly bohemian.
