Ladies and Gentlemen
London-North and Northwest London
May 11, 2018
One of a number of new London bars occupying former public conveniences (Clapham’s WC is another one, as is Fitzrovia’s Attendent), this cool but quirky Kentish Town watering hole is housed in a disused underground toilet at the bottom of Highgate Road. The cocktail bar inhabits two atmospheric, low-lit rooms with a small bar area at one end and friendly table service. The cocktails are all in the £8-£9 range and the quality is (generally) on the high side. Try the Rhubarb & Custard cocktail or their zingy Pear Collins. They also serve a Martinez which is always one of our favourite tipples when made well. The menu also includes a rotating roster of ‘boilermakers’, basically a shot of whisky with a beer chaser. There are no bookings taken after 9.30pm and its small size can mean that getting a table is tricky at busy times. The place is already proving popular and for more than just the novelty value of occupying a one-time lav.
