West Thirty Six
London-North and Northwest London
May 11, 2018
From the family of Beach Blanket Babylon, West Thirty Six is tucked away on one of Notting Hill’s attractive back streets. Located in a handsome corner building and marketing itself as an ‘all-day townhouse’, the venue is spread over four floors and includes a grill restaurant as well as various bar and lounge areas dotted with inviting leather arm chairs and Chesterfields. There are also several outdoor areas, including a covered terrace and a fire pit, for dining and drinking outside when the weather allows. The whole place has a Soho House vibe. You could lose a lot of hours in this place. On the food-front, John Pollard’s menu has a distinctly American edge: think excellent brisket and truffle mac’n’cheese. Cocktails are creative and well executed, layered drinks like the Thyme Out, a smooth mix of whisky, fresh lemon juice, thyme liqueur, rhubarb bitters and egg white alongside refreshing Daiquiris. All in all this is contemporary, chic and very welcome addition to the area.
