Named for the famously barbed eighteenth century caricaturist, Gillray’s Steakhouse & Bar at the Marriott at County Hall sees this superb location finally put to good use.
The handsome wood panelled room boasts elegant leather sofas and a refined, agreeably English atmosphere. The bar area benefits from striking views out over the Thames and the cocktail list includes both heritage and contemporary drinks.
The bar is particularly well stocked with English gins. The in-house infusions are well worth sampling and there’s a more than decent wine list too.
Meat is a big deal here as you might expect: sourced from the Duke of Devonshire’s Bolton Abbey Estate in Yorkshire, there are some nine cuts of steak available, including some fairly epic cuts designed for sharing.
