London-South East London

This iconic riverside building boasts some of the best panoramic views of the Thames, a grand gleaming curve that encompasses everything from St Paul’s Cathedral to the Savoy Hotel. Inside, you’ll find a restaurant, a more relaxed brasserie and a cocktail bar, which are all stylish, contemporary spaces with enviable terraces. The OXO Tower Bar is influenced by the ocean liners of years gone by: there’s a curved white counter and retro seating, which is all very striking, though the view remains the star of the show. The cocktails are well-executed with crisp, clean flavours, and they are all British in inspiration. The La Grande Bellezza mixes Martini Bianco Ambrato, St. Germain elderflower liqueur, lemon juice and lavender honey, while the Garden Fling is a refreshing blend of gin and mint and cucumber syrup, celery bitters and English strawberries finished with OXO Brut. The Double Agent, their take on the Vesper, includes a splash of plum liqueur and is stirred, not shaken — a method most bartenders prefer anyway (They also serve a classic Vesper if you’re a purist). Drinks are pricey, but then this is a special occasion place. It’s the perfect venue for a date or a celebration, and it’s the whole package you’re paying for. Few cocktails come with a view as good as this one, so we definitely recommend sitting at one of the tables by the window if you can for a truly memorable night.
