London-South West London
- Night Out
May 11, 2018
A welcome beacon of style and understatement in the often gaudy environs of Clapham High Street, 64th and Social is compact but not short on character. Huge gilt-framed mirrors have been used to create the illusion of space and they just about work, making the bar feel cozy rather than cramped. Their cocktails are a big attraction, both reasonably priced and well made. Their English Mojito with elderflower and cucumber is inspired and we’re intrigued by their honey-tinge Bee Sting. The classics haven’t been ignored and they shake a smooth Side Car. The bar food menu is short and ever so sweet with the tiny open kitchen capable of churning out steaks of superiority. The crowd is glam but friendly making this a West End calibre bar with real south of the river charm.
