Amuse Bouche – a Parson’s Green favourite with good reason – was established with an eye to democratising champagne, making it a more affordable and accessible treat while still very much a treat.

Amuse Bouche – a Parson’s Green favourite with good reason – was established with an eye to democratising champagne, making it a more affordable and accessible treat while still very much a treat. The bar stocks around 40 or so champagnes, with a good number available by the glass. The room itself is simple, almost plain in its decor, but relaxed and agreeable in atmosphere. The prices are restrained, though there’s a tendency to focus on big brands over smaller, newer producers. There’s food too. Various nibbles to choose from, a good range of cured meats and cheeses as well as tasty things in buns and a few larger plates, though it’s the liquid things that are the main draw here. The list of fizz is supplemented by a small selection of other wines and spirits. Unsurprisingly they do a very commendable champagne cocktail and the whole place is particularly appealing on warm summer evenings when the windows are open to the street and the bubbles are flowing.
