Gaucho Sloane Square

London-South West London

4.4 / 5

May 11, 2018

Bringing the bold flavors of Argentina to Chelsea, Gauchos Sloane Square is home to fantastic food, exquisite classic cocktails, and plenty of cowhide.

Located on one of the chicest streets in all off London,
Gaucho brings a distinctly Argentinian flavor to its food and drinks, offering
South American adventure in the heart of Chelsea.

Before we get into anything else, we simply must talk about
the cowhides. Yes, we said cowhides. Since gauchos are South American cowboys,
Gaucho Sloane Square has balanced out the slick leather booths and assorted
sleek modern fittings with plenty of cowhide print. The cowhides brings fun and
frivolity to both the walls and dining chairs, and the juxtaposition with the
rest of the sleek modern interior is seriously striking.

The food menu is full of dynamite dishes spanning the length
and breadth of Latin America, but it’s the cocktails that have us most excited.
Recapturing the magic of Buenos Aires in its heydey, the list is full of
flavors and spirits from that golden age when Prohibition was in effect in the
United States, but South America was swinging. A couple of our favorites from
that section of the menu are the smooth Clover Club (premium gin, dry vermouth,
raspberries, lemon juice and egg white) and the elegant Buenos Aires (premium
vodka, French aperitif, Argentinian herbal liqueur, and cherry liqueur). Make
no mistake though, Gaucho can keep up with the modern day mixing Jones’ too, as
shown on The Smoking Gun, a smoky mix of mezcal, premium coconut rum, agave
syrup, and pineapple juice. South American wine, beer (including one brewed
especially for Gaucho), digestifs, and champagne are also in ready supply.
