Below the Humble Grape’s wine shop in Battersea you’ll discover their atmospheric bar; an area filled with dark woods, low light and definitely more wines than you could attempt to sample in one evening. Upstairs, the Humble Grape’s shop displays dozens of bottles along its walls, available for purchase to take home, or even enjoy downstairs in the bar. The advertised wine list in the bar is seasonal and constantly changing, and all varieties can be ordered by the glass, carafe or bottle.
The staff at Humble Grape are friendly, fun and extremely knowledgeable about all things wine-related. The selection, both upstairs in the shop and downstairs in the bar, is extensive and has all been hand-chosen for its specific qualities. Of particular note is a 2014 Californian Chardonnay produced in the Russian River Valley and an experimental 2012 red wine from Kangaroo Island in Australia which merges Cabernet Franc and Malbec grapes (plus a few others for good measure). There are also several sparkling wines available, ranging from an Italian prosecco to a distinguished French grand reserve champagne. To help soak it all up, Humble Grape can whip up bar bites, toasted sandwiches, sharing platters and even a delectable duck confit.
