Ivy Chelsea Garden
London-South West London
May 11, 2018
A traditional-but-updated British garden restaurant serving swanky cocktails outside all day, The Ivy Chelsea Garden makes it feel like a tiny bit of a Beverly Hills has been picked up and brought to London. The latest see-and-be-seen-walking-to-your-table spot in Chelsea, The Ivy Chelsea Garden builds on the prestige of the previous Ivy outlets in London but adds to it with a spacious green garden feeling like it was transported straight from one of the nation’s poshest country clubs. The cocktail list at the Ivy Chelsea Garden is long on sparkly Royales, minty Juleps, and berry-filled Cobblers, with the Garden Punch – made with dark rum, almond milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and mint – worth taking special note of for its creamy texture. If you like your high tea with a touch of booze, then look no further than the Six Bells Tea Cup, poured for either one or two people, and overflowing with gin, grapefruit, elderflower cordial, clove, and a touch of star anise. Nope, these are definitely not your mother’s pub beer garden tipples. Lunch is up to the high Ivy standard and it’s worth noting that the lush garden is climate controlled with heaters and plenty of cover under their vine-wrapped trellises, so even if the sun can’t be seen, you still can.
