London-South West London
May 11, 2018
The third wine bar and restaurant from the team behind Terroirs and Brawn shimmers like an oasis in an otherwise unexciting part of south London. Destination dining is thin on the ground around Clapham Junction but Soif is worth the pilgrimage. Like its older siblings, it focuses on natural wines the untainted and unusual while the food menu features rustic small plates with a strong French influence. Think earthy chanterelles teamed with pancetta or squid paired with black pudding: this is robust cooking to complement some equally robust and challenging wines. Though it hasn’t been open long, its already very popular and can get packed and very noisy at times.
