A shining star on the Sloane Square scene, The Botanist beautifully brings together British and European fare alongside wonderful wine and cocktails.

Sloane Square has long had a reputation as the kind of place you want to be seen at, but for far too long, you were bound to be spotted sipping a subpar cocktail. The Botanist has arrived on the scene to change all that though, as it is a gorgeous restaurant and bar serving British food with a kiss of contemporary European flair, and most importantly for our pages, a cocktail card that is more than memorable.
But let’s start with the aesthetics, as The Botanist is a stunner worthy of the square it resides on. You’re bound to see the bar first thing, as it is a chrome beauty surrounded by mustard yellow seats that gives off a whiff of both retro and modern. Further inside, a wall full of sketchings that look like they’ve appeared straight from a Victorian world explorer’s travel journal (think flora and fauna) bring the name of the restaurant to life. Make no mistake, The Botanist Sloane Square’s kitchen serves up sensational fare, but it’s the specialities being served across the bar that get us the most excited. Cocktails are all freshly made with flair and a bevy of botanical ingredients, while the bottles on the wine list have been painstakingly sourced from around the world, including plenty of bubbles and even a section called ‘fine and rare’, a fitting descriptor of the venue itself.
