The Box has acquired quite a reputation for itself. This Soho cabaret nightclub tucked away in Walker’s Court in Soho, London, on the premises formerly occupied by the notorious former Raymond Revue Bar, the venue has been called ‘Britain’s seediest nightclub’, but that was by the Daily Mail so is worth taking with several pinches of salt. This ‘theatre of varieties’ is undoubtedly decadent but that’s part of its appeal. There are several acts each evening, the line-up changing regularly, doors open at 11pm, but this is a venue for night creatures and things don’t really hot up until 1am. (Ad then they really hot up – expect burlesque and then some). After the performances, the DJs got to work and the space becomes more of a nightclub.  Glamorous dressing is actively encouraged. All kind of dressing up in fact. It’s the kind of place where people go to escape themselves and indulge their fantasies, with all that entails.
