65 & King

With the stated intention of bringing a little elegance to their strip of Westbourne Grove, 65 & King does just that with a little side of rustic Americana thrown in for good measure. Raising the bar for neighborhood bars with creative-to-the-max cocktails, 65 & King is a place to simply relax or have a night out with style, and it manages to straddle that line perfectly. The decor is sophisticated with slick white brick walls, an imported antique tin ceiling, and bespoke neon signs. The cocktails are the main reason 65 & King has attracted so much attention since its opening, though, and with a thoroughly inventive menu, it’s easy to see why. Two that give you an idea of the creativity behind the bar are the Basil of Baker Street – a blend of basil-infused vodka, maraschino liqueur, Charteuse, lemon juice, and bitters – and the Old Peak – created with basil flavored pisco, elderflower-flavored liquor, lemon juice and homemade thyme syrup. 65 & King also believes in sharing and as thus is at the forefront of the punch bowl trend, putting forth a Pineapple Head punch full of pomegranate, lime, grapefruit, pineapple, and host of other citrus flavors laced with dark rum and served to groups of 4-6 people. The food menu that follows is distinctly American with lobster rolls, fried pickles, and barbecue pork scoring prominent places.
