Artesian bar @ The Langham Hotel
May 11, 2018
The dark woods and high ceilings offer guests the opportunity to sip a cocktail in a classic, timeless environment amongst international visitors to London, businessmen sealing a deal and groups of friends out celebrating a special occasion. Remy Savage, the lead bartender at the Artesian, learned and perfected his craft at the Little Red Door in Paris before winning the World’s Most Imaginative Bartender in 2014. His academic background in philosophy, his world travels and passion for cocktails shine through to maintain the atmosphere of The Langham evident to the very last sip.
The aptly named Artesian Moments menu changes seasonally, with drinks inspired by themes such as pinnacle moments in life and tastes and flavours associated with poignant memories. Naturally, the First Steps cocktail infuses notes of milk and banana to reflect one’s younger years and the Your Heart Was Broken tipple wonderfully infuses Craigellachie whiskey with cacao and sake – a hard drink for hard times. Along with a superb food menu, the bar also offers an extensive choice of wine and champagne with a list curated from every corner of the planet.
Located in London’s highly sought-after Marylebone, The Langham is one of the city’s top hotels. Constructed in 1865, stopping by for a drink at the Artesian is an opportunity to explore one of the city’s most revered architectural wonders. It has played an important part in both local and global history and has been frequented by some of the world’s most notable figures, including Winston Churchill, Charles de Gaulle, the writer and actor Noel Coward and the late Diana Princess of Wales.
